If leather definitely is one of my favorite materials ever, wearing it by day isn’t always easy. Actually, I know some people will even never do it, because of the connotation it can have. But hey, it’s the fashion world guys, it’s 2018, time to dare and be self-confident, promise you’ll regret if you don’t.
So, as I wanted to write about it and share ideas of looks, I’ve decided to post two of them. The first one, here, is the classy version. I don’t care being overdressed or classy even to go for a walk on sunday but this one is mainly appropriate for places you want to go dressed elegant. I even think I remember having weared it for a night out. Yes, I surely did. But as Oscar Wilde said « You can never be overdressed (or overeducated) », so…
I choose to mix this cute leather (simili) skirt with a black turtleneck sweater from Zara, a little bit colorful blazer (an old one from H&M that I still adore) and black boots, which appeared to be a very black outfit and just perfect to me (remember what I said about it in my article about navy blue + burgundy ? Here we are… If you don’t, you can read it right there).
The shooting wasn’t the easiest part, we had the chance (depends on if you consider the « moving from a place to another challenge » side or not) to have snow on Paris the days just before, and it was so cold it took hours to be able to use my fingers again after that. Note to myself : shooting on such a touristic place on a saturday afternoon isn’t the best idea neither. It requires a lot of patience, and it isn’t my main quality at all. But anyway, let’s get back to the outfit.
I chose to complete the look with my Ralph Lauren bag which is my ultimate classical black leather bag. I got it somewhere in the last months of 2017 and I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of it. I can wear it at any occasion, with any outfit, anywhere, anytime. The kind of basic I truly love to own, because it saves me like everytime : when I’m late, when I’m wearing too many colors, when I want to remain classical… Even if I consider it more like an autumn and winter bag, I trust myself for finding a way to wear it during spring (it’s coming !), and even summer.
My coat is the last one I bought and it’s from Mango. I’ve been waiting a long time for the perfect black one, and had a real crush on it, a bit unstructured and perfectly fitting.
About makeup and accessories, I kept it simple. Gold earring I’m obsessed with from Mango, and a Chanel Rouge Velvet Allure for my lips. For my eyes, I played with nude and grey colors and added a touch a mascara, « et voilà ».
A second part, with a more casual outfit, always with leather, is coming very soon, stay tuned.
Have a great week everyone.
